Description
These Almond Crescent Cookies are a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth treat that feels perfect for a quick breakfast with coffee, a healthy snack break, easy dessert platters, and festive food ideas all season long. With their delicate almond flavor, soft crumb, and snowy powdered sugar finish, this easy recipe is one of my favorite baking ideas when I want something simple, elegant, and absolutely delicious.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup finely ground almonds
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup powdered sugar, for coating
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Beat the softened butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
3. Mix in the vanilla extract and almond extract.
4. Add the all-purpose flour, finely ground almonds, and salt, then mix until a soft dough forms.
5. Scoop out small portions of dough and roll each into a short log.
6. Curve each piece gently into a crescent shape and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the bottoms and edges are lightly golden.
8. Let the cookies cool for about 5 minutes.
9. Roll or dust the warm cookies with the remaining powdered sugar.
10. Cool completely and add a second light coating of powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Avoid overbaking these cookies, because they should stay pale and tender for that classic melt-in-your-mouth texture.
