pinch salt
2 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 large eggs
2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup caramel sauce (for topping)
1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional, for topping)
powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
2. In a bowl, combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. Add 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter and mix until crumbly. Press mixture into the bottom of the pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then set aside.
3. In another bowl, toss 2 medium apples (peeled and thinly sliced) with 1 tablespoon brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Layer apples evenly over the baked crust.
4. In a large mixing bowl, beat together 8 ounces softened cream cheese and 2 large eggs until smooth. Add 2 cups powdered sugar, 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Beat until creamy. Spread over the apple layer.
5. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until edges are set and center is slightly jiggly. Let cool for 15 minutes.
6. Drizzle with 1/3 cup caramel sauce and sprinkle with 1/4 cup chopped nuts if desired. Cool completely before removing from the pan.
7. Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Slice and enjoy!
