Description

Baked Salmon with Sweet Chili Sauce is my favorite kind of easy recipe because it turns a simple fillet into a bold, glossy, flavor-packed dinner with very little work. This quick breakfast-for-dinner style meal also fits right into easy dinner, healthy snack, breakfast ideas, dinner ideas, easy recipe, and food ideas searches because it is fast, satisfying, flaky, sweet, savory, and perfect for busy nights.

Ingredients

4 salmon fillets

1/2 cup sweet chili sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon lime juice

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil or parsley

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet or baking dish with foil or parchment paper.

2. In a small bowl, whisk together the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, garlic, lime juice, and olive oil.

3. Pat the salmon dry and place it on the prepared pan.

4. Season the salmon with salt and black pepper.

5. Brush the sweet chili mixture generously over the salmon.

6. Bake for 12 to 16 minutes, depending on thickness, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.

7. Broil for 1 to 2 minutes at the end if you want a darker, caramelized top.

8. Let the salmon rest for 2 minutes, then sprinkle with fresh basil or parsley before serving.

Notes

Do not overbake the salmon, because even a few extra minutes can make it dry instead of tender and flaky.
