Description
This Better Than KFC Copycat Coleslaw is a cool, creamy, crunchy side dish that is perfect for quick dinner plates, easy recipe collections, summer food ideas, barbecue menus, and simple make-ahead side dishes. It blends finely chopped cabbage and carrots with a sweet and tangy dressing for a fresh, classic coleslaw that works beautifully with dinner ideas, picnic spreads, and comfort food meals.
Ingredients
8 cups green cabbage, finely chopped
1/4 cup carrot, finely chopped
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup buttermilk
2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Finely chop the cabbage and carrot into very small pieces for the classic coleslaw texture.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sugar, milk, buttermilk, lemon juice, white vinegar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
3. Place the chopped cabbage and carrot in a large bowl.
4. Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss until everything is evenly coated.
5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours so the flavors can blend and the texture can soften slightly.
6. Stir well before serving and enjoy chilled.
Notes
Do not skip the chilling time, because serving it too soon keeps the dressing from fully soaking into the cabbage and the flavor will not be as balanced.
