Description
Church Lady Butter Toffee Pretzels are a sweet and salty snack that always disappears fast. This easy recipe brings together crunchy pretzels, rich buttery toffee, and cozy homemade flavor in one irresistible bite, making it perfect for holiday treats, party food ideas, easy dessert boards, quick snack recipes, and simple homemade gift ideas.
Ingredients
10 cups mini pretzel twists
1 cup unsalted butter
2 cups light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 250°F and line a large baking sheet or roasting pan with parchment paper. Spread the pretzels out in an even layer.
2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar and salt, then cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring often, until smooth and bubbling.
3. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. Mix quickly until the toffee foams slightly.
4. Pour the hot toffee over the pretzels and toss well until evenly coated.
5. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes so the coating bakes evenly.
6. Remove from the oven, spread out if needed, and let the pretzels cool completely before serving or storing.
Notes
Do not store the pretzels before they are fully cooled, or the coating can turn sticky instead of crisp.
