Whether you’re looking for a no-bake dessert, an easy recipe for family gatherings, or unique breakfast ideas, this is the sweet and crunchy snack you’ll want to make again and again!

Ingredients

6 cups Rice Chex cereal

1 cup white chocolate chips

1/2 cup shelled pistachios, finely ground

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup whole almonds

1/4 cup chopped pistachios

1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt

Instructions

1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and unsalted butter. Microwave in 20-30 second bursts, stirring each time, until smooth and fully melted.

2. Stir in almond extract and sea salt until well blended.

3. Finely grind 1/2 cup shelled pistachios in a food processor or blender until it reaches a crumb consistency.

4. Place 6 cups Rice Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal, folding gently to coat each piece evenly.

5. Sprinkle ground pistachios over the coated cereal, tossing to combine.

6. Add powdered sugar and toss again until every piece is covered in a light green, snowy dust.

7. Add whole almonds and chopped pistachios, gently folding them in.

8. Spread puppy chow out on a lined baking sheet to cool, then transfer to an airtight container for storage.

Notes

For gluten-free puppy chow, use certified gluten-free Rice Chex or similar cereal.

The white chocolate sets quickly, so toss the cereal well before adding powdered sugar for even coating.

Puppy chow can be made ahead and stored in the freezer; thaw before serving for best crunch.
