Ingredients
1/3 cup unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon low-sodium chicken broth (or water)
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1. Add the unsalted butter to a small saucepan and set it over low heat. Let the butter melt slowly, stirring occasionally, until it is fully melted and just beginning to foam around the edges without browning.
2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30–60 seconds, stirring constantly, until the garlic is fragrant and just starting to turn lightly golden. Keep the heat low to prevent burning.
3. Add the Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, crushed red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Cook for about 30 seconds, stirring continuously to bloom the spices in the butter without scorching them.
4. Pour in the fresh lemon juice and low-sodium chicken broth (or water), then add the fine sea salt. Stir well and let the sauce simmer gently over low heat for 1–2 minutes, until everything is hot and slightly thickened.
5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the finely chopped fresh parsley. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt, lemon juice, or crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
6. Serve the Cajun garlic butter sauce warm as a dip, drizzle, or brush over seafood, steak, chicken, vegetables, or bread.
Notes
For the best flavor, keep the heat low and never let the garlic burn—if it turns dark brown, the sauce will taste bitter, so it’s better to start over than try to fix it.
