This easy recipe is a crowd-pleaser and perfect for those looking for quick dessert ideas, indulgent treats, and chocolatey food ideas.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter

1 ½ cups granulated sugar

3 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 cup all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon salt

14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

2 egg yolks

½ cup brown sugar

¼ cup butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup shredded sweetened coconut

1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment or lightly grease it.

2. In a saucepan, melt 1 cup butter. Remove from heat and stir in 1 ½ cups sugar and 1 cup cocoa powder. Let cool slightly.

3. Whisk in 3 eggs and 2 tsp vanilla extract. Add 1 cup flour and ½ tsp salt. Mix just until combined.

4. Pour into the prepared pan and smooth out the top. Bake 22–25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool.

5. For the topping, combine 14 oz sweetened condensed milk, 2 egg yolks, and ½ cup brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until thick and bubbling, about 5–6 minutes.

6. Remove from heat. Stir in ¼ cup butter, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 cup shredded coconut, and 1 cup chopped pecans. Let cool for 5 minutes.

7. Spread topping evenly over the cooled brownies. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.

Notes

Let the topping cool slightly before spreading for easier handling.

Toasting pecans enhances the nutty flavor.

Use parchment paper for clean removal and slicing.
