Description
This gluten-free chocolate mug cake is my favorite easy recipe for a quick breakfast treat, healthy snack-style dessert, or cozy late-night bite when I want chocolate fast. It is rich, soft, and deeply chocolaty, making it one of my go-to food ideas for easy dessert cravings, simple baking moments, and quick homemade treats.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons gluten-free all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
3 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons melted butter
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Add the gluten-free flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt to a microwave-safe mug and stir well.
2. Pour in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, then mix until the batter is smooth with no dry spots.
3. Stir in or sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top.
4. Microwave for 60 to 90 seconds, just until the top looks set but the center is still soft.
5. Let the mug cake rest for 1 minute before serving warm.
Notes
Do not overcook the mug cake, because even a few extra seconds can make it dry and rubbery instead of soft and tender.
