Description

Get ready to fall in love with this quick, no-bake dessert! Puppy Chow Bars pack all the nostalgic flavors of muddy buddies—rich chocolate, creamy peanut butter, and a blizzard of powdered sugar—into thick, chewy bars that are perfect for parties, lunchboxes, or a cozy family treat. Whether you need a fun snack for the kids, an easy potluck dessert, or just want new breakfast ideas or healthy snack options for busy days, these bars hit the sweet spot. Fast, easy, and freezer-friendly—this is the easy recipe you’ll make again and again for breakfast, snacks, or dessert!

Ingredients

6 cups Chex cereal

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups powdered sugar, divided

Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Lightly spray with nonstick spray.

2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring after each, until smooth and melted.

3. Stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt until well combined.

4. Place Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl. Pour the melted mixture over the cereal and gently fold until every piece is evenly coated.

5. Add 1 cup powdered sugar and toss gently to distribute.

6. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and press into an even layer.

7. Sift the remaining 1 cup powdered sugar over the top.

8. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until set.

9. Use the parchment paper to lift the bars from the pan, then cut into 16 squares.

10. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Press the bars firmly so they hold together when sliced.

For best results, use parchment and nonstick spray to prevent sticking.

Try adding mini chocolate chips or candy pieces for a fun twist.
