Description
This Ritz Cracker Chicken Casserole is a quick dinner, easy dinner, and classic comfort food recipe that turns simple ingredients into something creamy, crunchy, and incredibly satisfying. With tender chicken, a rich savory filling, and a buttery cracker topping, it is one of my favorite easy recipe ideas for busy weeknights, cozy family meals, and dependable dinner ideas when I need something everyone will actually want to eat.
Ingredients
3 cups cooked shredded chicken
10.5 ounces cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
2 cups Ritz crackers, crushed
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon poppy seeds
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, poppy seeds, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.
3. Fold in the shredded chicken and mix until evenly coated.
4. Spread the chicken mixture into the prepared baking dish in an even layer.
5. In a separate bowl, combine the crushed Ritz crackers and melted butter until the crumbs are coated.
6. Sprinkle the buttery cracker mixture evenly over the casserole.
7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until hot and bubbly and golden on top.
8. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Do not crush the Ritz crackers too finely, or the topping can lose that crisp buttery texture that makes this casserole so good.
