Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
3/4 cup molasses
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon salt
For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2–3 teaspoons milk
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a mini muffin tin.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and molasses until smooth.
3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt.
4. Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir just until combined.
5. Spoon batter into prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about three-quarters full.
6. Bake for 15–18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
7. Remove from oven and let muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
8. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with milk until spreadable. Top each warm muffin with a dollop of glaze.
9. Allow glaze to set before serving or storing.
Notes
Don’t overmix the batter—mix just until ingredients are combined for the best texture.
For a classic chewy “button,” use less milk in the glaze to keep it thick.
Muffins can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for 2 months.
