Description
This simple and flavorful steak marinade is one of my favorite easy dinner ideas when I want juicy, tender steak with bold savory flavor. It is a quick dinner marinade made with pantry staples like soy sauce, garlic, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce, giving you an easy recipe that works for weeknight meals, backyard cookouts, and satisfying food ideas for the whole family.
Ingredients
1/2 cup olive oil
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 pounds steak
Instructions
1. Whisk the olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, garlic, Dijon mustard, black pepper, oregano, red pepper flakes, and salt in a medium bowl until well combined.
2. Place the steak in a large zip-top bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it.
3. Cover or seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 8 hours for deeper flavor.
4. Remove the steak from the refrigerator 20 to 30 minutes before cooking.
5. Take the steak out of the marinade and pat it lightly dry.
6. Grill or sear over medium-high heat until cooked to your desired doneness.
7. Rest the steak for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Do not skip patting the steak lightly dry before cooking, because too much wet marinade on the surface can keep it from getting a good sear.
